Candle Care

Follow these tips for the proper care of your soy candle.
Soy candles burn differently than traditional candles.

Why does my wick have a mushroom at the top after burning?

This is common with cotton wicks. Proper attention to trimming your wicks will minimize the mushroom after and reduce soot build up.

Will the candles leave black soot in the container?

When burned properly, our candles are virtually soot free. If the wicks are not trimmed properly soot may form, so attention to keeping the wick trimmed should be followed. Remember to trim your wicks to ½ inch prior to burning.

How do I properly extinguish my candles?

Never extinguish your candles but placing the lid on the container. The ideal method to extinguish your candle is to use a wick dipper. A wick dipper will extinguish your candle in the melted wax then straighten for future use. This will greatly reduce the opportunity for soot to form on your container.
